Undergraduate Study Abroad

Brown in Italy

Our program is based at the Brown in Bologna office in Bologna, near our primary partner institution, the University of Bologna (UniBo), the oldest in Europe, with a proud history of dynamic, well-respected scholars like Dante, Petrarch, Erasmus, and Copernicus.

The ancient city of Bologna is one of Europe’s great centers of learning and a superbly preserved jewel of medieval charm. The Brown in Bologna program is designed to provide an experience of full immersion in Italian language and culture, and it is open to students of all disciplines who have completed Intermediate Italian (third-semester college-level Italian language), or the equivalent.

The Brown in Bologna program is managed by Brown’s Global Partnerships & Programs team within the Office of Global Engagement (OGE).  To learn more about the program, please visit the Brown in Bologna page on the OGE website.
